Package Itinerary

Example itinerary and subject to change upon arrival at the resort:

Day 1: Welcome to Nellim

Flights to Ivalo via Helsinki from Heathrow or Manchester (some direct flights available upon request)
Transfer to Nellim Wilderness Hotel from airport (approx. 45 minutes)
Evening meal
Check into Wilderness Room

Day 2: Snowshoeing

Breakfast
2-hour Gentle snowshoeing – If you prefer a nice gentle walk in a beautiful snowy surrounding, this is the tour for you. We will equip you with snowshoes (and poles if preferred) and head for a nice little walk in the surroundings of the hotel. Along the way, our guide will share interesting stories and information about the Finnish nature.

Day 3: Husky Safari & Aurora Snowshoeing

Breakfast
3-hour Husky safari -Huskies will pull your sled through the beautiful winter scenery on the frozen Lake Inari. The dogs’ excitement is infectious and as the animals fall silent on the trail, you can enjoy the serenity of nature around you. All husky safaris run so that one guest is mushing, and the other one is sitting in the sleigh. Rates are based on two people sharing sled unless otherwise stated. Positions will be changed halfway.

2.5-hour Aurora snowshoeing – Snowshoeing in the woods at night has its own excitement. We will wander in the Nellim woods and surroundings, until finally reaching the camp spot. At the camp we will enjoy some warm drinks and gaze at the sky hoping for a possible Northern Lights show.

Day 4: Cross Country Skiing

Breakfast
2-hour Cross country skiing – Guide will teach you how to use the skis, and once everyone has the hang of it, we will have a nice loop in the surrounding nature. We will be skiing with no hurry, stopping to take pictures and enjoy warm drinks on the way.

Day 5: Reindeer & Aurora Camp

Breakfast
4-hour Reindeer Day with snowmobile – Join a guided snowmobile tour for a deep dive into Sámi culture and life in the north. Visit a reindeer farm, feed these curious animals, and learn about reindeer herding from your guide. Enjoy a traditional lunch of reindeer soup by an open fire, seated on reindeer hides.
Evening meal
2.5-hour aurora camp by snowmobile sleigh – Go Aurora hunting on stunning Lake Inari, one of the best places in the world for Northern Lights viewing. Ride in a cozy sledge pulled by your guide’s snowmobile to a remote camp, where you’ll enjoy hot drinks and a blazing fire under the northern sky. With no light pollution, this peaceful experience offers a perfect chance to witness the magic of the Aurora Borealis.

Day 6: Ice Fishing & Snowmobiling

Breakfast
2-hour ice fishing experience – Join us for a true local favourite—ice fishing on a remote wilderness lake. Learn how to drill through the ice and use the gear, then try your luck while enjoying warm drinks and the stunning Arctic scenery.

4 hour Snowmobiling – Snowmobiling in Nellim is big fun. There is unlimited wilderness, lots of tracks and beautiful scenery all around. After a snowmobiling lesson and safety instructions, you will head off on snowmobiling adventure. During the day you will enjoy lunch and warm drinks by an open fire. Is there a better way to spend a winter day?
