Package Itinerary

Example itinerary and subject to change upon arrival at the resort:

Day 1: Welcome to Muotka

Return direct flights from Gatwick to Ivalo (indirect flights available from Heathrow and Manchester)
Transfer from Ivalo airport to Muotka Wilderness Hotel (approx. 35 minutes)
Check into accommodation
Evening meal

Day 2: Snowshoeing & Aurora Camp

Breakfast
2-hour Snowshoeing – We will equip you with snowshoes and poles if preferred. We are going to head for a nice little walk in the surrounding nature. Along the way, our guide will share interesting stories and information about the Finnish nature and animals. This is a perfect way to explore the surroundings in peace.
Lunch
Evening meal
2.5-hour Aurora Camp – You will be comfortably seated in a sledge that is pulled by the guide s snowmobile. This way you can enjoy the northern sky all the way to the camp site. At the camp there is a hut with an open fire to warm us up on a cold night of Aurora hunting. Your guide will also serve warm drinks to keep you heated and cosy. The camp has a minimum amount of light pollution, so it is perfect for viewing the Northern lights that hopefully show up in the sky.

Day 3: Reindeer day & Cross Country Skiing

Breakfast
4-hour Reindeer Day with snowmobile – Day will start with snowmobile driving introductions. Once we are ready, we head to the wilderness with our snowmobiles! We will visit a reindeer farm, where you will meet the reindeer herders and learn about the importance of reindeer in Lapland. You will learn how to lasso a reindeer and have a short ride in a sleigh pulled by reindeer. During the day a soup lunch will be served.
2-hour Cross country skiing – Guide will teach you how to use the skis, and once everyone’s got the hang of it, we will have a nice loop in the surrounding nature. We will be skiing with no hurry, stopping to take pictures and enjoy warm drinks on the way.

Day 4: Husky Safari

Breakfast
2-hour Husky safari – The dogs’ excitement is infectious and as the animals fall silent on the trail, you will realize that this is the only way to see Lapland. All husky safaris run so that one guest is mushing, and the other one is sitting in the sleigh. Rates are based on two people sharing sled unless otherwise stated. Positions will be changed halfway – approx 45-60 min driving time
