3 hour Aurora camp by the lake
Experience an unforgettable evening at Aurora Camp, where a roaring fire and the Northern Lights light up the sky by a picturesque lake. The Aurora Expedition offers a comfortable bus journey with a photo stop at the rugged Lake Ukonjärvi, once believed to be the home of Ukko the Overgod. At the camp, relax by the cozy fire, enjoy a warming drink, and wait for the Northern Lights to appear. Lie on a reindeer hide in the snow for a magical experience, and if the night is calm, you may even hear the whispers of the lights.
4 hour aurora camp by the border
Hop on the bus and enjoy the serene landscapes of Lapland as we pass through the quiet village of Ivalo and the small town of Nellim, heading toward the border with Russia. From there, we continue to our Aurora Camp in Virtaniemi, where we’ll light a fire in a traditional Lappish teepee and wait for the Northern Lights to illuminate the sky. We may also visit the Paatsjoki river bridge, where the Northern Lights’ vibrant reds and greens reflect on the rapidly flowing river, creating a stunning scene surrounded by snow-covered trees.

For air travel, we recommend flying into Ivalo Airport. There are convenient flights available from the UK via Helsinki to Ivalo, as well as some direct routes. Finnair offers daily flights year-round. Once you arrive, we can arrange a transfer from Ivalo Airport to Juutua, approximately a 25-minute drive away.
