Package Overview

The White Sea will be the base for this week long ice diving holiday. Whether you have been ice diving before or it is a new experience the package can be open to any qualified divers although AOWD with dry suit experience/Sport diver qualifications are preferable. If you are not already a qualified ice diver or have at least 5 ice dives under your weight belt then an ice diving course will be recommended on arrival. Once qualified you will be experiencing visibility of up to 50 metres, ice hummocks and rifts, amazing soft corals and a great variety of fish and sea life. Heated huts are placed over the ice for your comfort and there even heated toilets and a “restaurant” cabin on the ice for lunch! This is one of our most popular diving packages, narrowly ahead of diving in Iceland as here you actually dive under the ice.

Available from late February – mid-April for Ice diving and year round for other diving.

Transfers to and from the dive centre (approx. 7 hours)
7 nights accommodation in twin room with ensuite bathroom (same gender participant)

2 day Ice diving qualification (classroom session plus 3 dives one on one with instructor)
2 additional days of ice diving (usually max 4 participants plus instructor and tenders, 2 dives per day)

Full Kit rental (Drysuit, undersuit, BCD, regs, mask, fins, tanks, weights, tender line and torch) or additional 23kg baggage allowance

Day 1

Flights from UK to Murmansk via Moscow
Transfer to Dive centre from Murmansk airport
Night at Dive centre
Check in to accommodation
Kit fitting
Evening possibility for Russian Banya – steam sauna
Welcome meal

Day 2 & 3

Breakfast
Ice diving qualification – The course consists of one classroom session followed by 3 one-on-one dives with the instructor over 2 days to learn all about Ice diving, the equipment and special signals and considerations for diving under ice
Lunch on the ice in heated cabin
Transfer to dive site by snowmobile sledge. Heated changing rooms are available on the ice along with a heated toilet and lunchroom/classroom.
Evening meal and night at centre

Day 4, 5 & 6

Breakfast
2 ice dives per day across a variety of local dive sites – now qualified the dives will usually go further afield maybe to experience hummocks or soft coral formations. Lunch on the Ice and dinner back at the Dive centre
Night at centre

Day 7

Breakfast
Decompression day
Day free – opportunity to try cross country skiing, go on a snowmobile safari or a husky or reindeer sleigh ride
Lunch and dinner at the Dive centre
