If you're not fussed for snow, the Autumn is a fantastic time to visit the Arctic. Get away from the crowds and experience life in the slow lane with our Inari Wilderness Hotel Autumn Break
Lake Inari is a special place for the Sami people and there are plenty of influences to be seen from the Sami culture. The lake consists of 3318 islands, the majority of which have no inhabitants. The low population density means there is little light pollution and it is therefore a great place to sport the Northern Lights. We offer packages here throughout the year staying at the Inari Wilderness Hotel – it is little known that the best time to see the Northern Lights is in September and October – after the Autumn equinox but before the snow starts to fall.

Day 2.-3. Activities
Visit to Siida, the Sámi Museum and Nature Centre. Siida is full of information about Sámi culture and history as well as life and nature up in the north. In addition to the permanent exhibitions, Siida usually has 1-3 seasonally changing temporary exhibitions. After visiting Siida we have sightseeing tour around Inari village. The parish village of Inari is the centre for Finland’s Sámi culture. The village charms the visitors and locals with its unique wild nature and versatile cultures. We will visit the best scenic spots for sightseeing and photographing and enjoy the Lappish nature and scenery.
Chase the Northern Lights by car! Aurora Hunt by Car is one of our well-known aurora gazing activities. We will try to hunt down the Auroras with a car. On good weather, we will head for one of the specific camp spots, to try and photograph this phenomenon. If the weather doesn’t look so promising, we’ll head further out in search of clearer skies. During the trip, guide will serve some warm drinks and snacks.
After breakfast it’s time for a relaxing hike in beautiful surroundings of the Inari village. In Autumn the nature is full of beautiful colours and curious animals. Your guide will tell you interesting facts about Finnish nature and if you have a bit of luck with you, maybe you’ll see some reindeer. We will have lunch by the open fire during the trip.
