A trip to The Icehotel in Sweden Jukkasjärvi will make you be the envy of all your friends. ICEHOTEL is created in a new guise every winter, completely made out of natural ice from Torne River, one of Sweden’s national rivers and last untouched waters. The package also includes a snowmobile safari when you can feel the need for speed as you experience Lapland’s most popular means of travel. Together with a friend on the combo tour; you sit and drive a team of 5-6 dogs (depending on the conditions and your weight), and half way you get to swap over. This way each of you get to try both driving and sitting. Our sit & drive combo tour is also perfect if you want to take some photographs. The person sitting can take pictures whilst the other person concentrates on driving the sled.
During the combo tour we cover a distance of approximately 18 kms of varied landscape. The area where we make the trails is hand selected. Thus we cover optimal varied landscape, namely forest areas, swamp, open space, and a creek. Furthermore, this ensures that the combo tour is conducted on a trail that is safe for beginners yet still exciting for experienced drivers as well.
When we return to the kennel; if you want to you can help to feed your own team of dogs and unharness them before we put them back into their yards.
From here we can warm up by the fire with a cup of tea or coffee and a cinnamon roll. You can ask questions and cuddle with the puppies!
After another filling breakfast, you’ll need to get back into your high quality arctic clothing before heading out for Snowmobiling in the forest. Along the way you may see reindeer, moose, ptarmigan and Arctic hare to name a few. Traditional Swedish fika (coffee and cake!) by an open fire included. Approx 3 hours. You’ve plenty of time to relax before your final night in ICEHOTEL warm cabin.
