Package Itinerary

Imagine being here on your own Arctic holiday – spending the night in Sweden’s luxury Ice Hotel, wrapped up warm in a unique room made of ice. Tasting the freshest natural food from a private table set high in the treetops or gazing up at the incredible Northern Lights from the comfort of your own Glass Igloo.

Day 1: Welcome to Nellim

Flights to Ivalo via Helsinki from Heathrow or Manchester (some direct flights available upon request)
Transfer from Ivalo airport to Nellim Wilderness Hotel (approx. 40 minutes)
Evening meal
Check into Wilderness room

Day 2: 2.5 hour Aurora Snowshoeing

2.5-hour Aurora snowshoeing – Head out on a peaceful moonlit walk through the snowy landscape under the Northern Lights. Our guide will share stories about Finnish nature, and we’ll warm up by a campfire with hot drinks as we wait for the Auroras.

Day 3: Reindeer & Aurora Camp

2-hour Meet the reindeer – Meet these amazing animals up close on a fun and informative tour. Learn about Sámi culture and the reindeer’s role in the North as our guide shares stories. You’ll even get to feed them—some may eat right from your hand! It’s a unique way to experience Northern Lapland traditions.
Evening meal
2.5-hour Aurora camp – Ride across frozen Lake Inari in a cosy sleigh pulled by your guide’s snowmobile on this evening tour. At a remote aurora camp, far from light pollution, you’ll have the perfect chance to see and photograph the Northern Lights. Warm up by the fire with hot drinks and snacks as you take in the view.

Day 4: Snowshoeing & Husky Safari

4 hour snowshoeing adventure – If you prefer a nice gentle walk in a beautiful snowy surrounding, this is the tour for you. We will equip you with snowshoes (and poles if preferred) and head for a nice little walk in the surroundings of the hotel. Along the way, our guide will share interesting stories and information about the Finnish nature.
3-hour Husky safari – This adventure takes you through beautiful lakes and forests by husky sled. After a quick lesson, feel the thrill as the huskies take off and guide you through the quiet winter landscape. Two guests share a sled—one drives, the other rides—and you’ll switch halfway so both can try mushing.

Day 5: Cross Country Skiing

Breakfast
2 hour cross country skiing – Discover the traditional Finnish way of travel with a peaceful cross-country skiing tour. After a quick lesson from your guide, ski across frozen Lake Inari at a relaxed pace, taking in the snowy scenery. Stop along the way to enjoy warm drinks and capture the beauty of the Arctic landscape.

Day 6: Aurora Hunting by Car

3 hour Aurora Hunt by Car – Join your trusted guides in searching for the Northern Lights, using weather and Aurora forecasts, your guides will take you to the best spots to catch the Lights dancing across the sky

Day 7: Aurora Workshop & Ice Fishing

1 hour Aurora Workshop – Knowledgeable guides will make sure you’re equipped to get the best pictures of the aurora, whether you’re using a smart phone or professional camera, they’ll have all the tips and tricks on how to make your pictures pop!
Evening meal
4 Hour Ice fishing with transport by snowmobile – First you will get familiar with the snowmobile, have full safety instructions and a driving lesson with the guide. After everyone feels comfortable, you will head out for a journey to a frozen lake where you will be guided on how to ice fish, from making the hole to catching the fish.
