Between September and April the Northern Lights can be seen somewhere in the world, and almost every night. It can be faint, it can be brief, but it is there somewhere! If you want to see them, the best chances are by going somewhere that gets them frequently and where you are least likely to have your view impeded by light pollution and cloud cover
Absolutely! Often they can look “better” or “brighter” with a camera. Particularly when it is a faint display or if your eyes aren’t fully adjusted to the dark but you can ABSOLUTELY, 100% see them with the bare eye!

As a rule, like we say above, between September and April the Northern Lights will be seen somewhere around the Arctic circle every night. Even if really briefly and very faint. At our top resorts generally they will be there at some time in the evening roughly 2 out of 3 nights during the peak times, you just need a clear sky, no light pollution and to be looking up at the right time!
