Nestled in the heart of the Arctic, Wilderness Hotel Juutua is excited to unveil 30 new Arctic hotel rooms, seamlessly blending modernity, comfort, and elegance. Each room is designed to provide a luxurious retreat, with contemporary furnishings and windows that frame the stunning natural surroundings.

Example itinerary and subject to change upon arrival at the resort:

  • Flights to Ivalo via Helsinki from Heathrow or Manchester (some direct flights available upon request)
  • Transfer to Juutua wilderness resort from airport (approx. 40-45 minutes)
  • Evening meal
  • Check into Wilderness Room
  • Breakfast
  • 2-hour Meet the reindeer – At the reindeer farm you will learn interesting information about the reindeer and the life of a reindeer herder and Sami culture. This guided trip will be made by car.

  • 4-hour Snowmobile adventure – Snowmobiling is the best way to truly explore the wilderness. After a driving lesson, we’ll head off on an exciting snowmobiling day that will take us through Lapland landscapes into untouched wilderness surroundings. We’ll enjoy a lunch and warm drinks, making the day even more special.

  • 3-hour Husky safari – This adventure will take you through stunning lakes and forests. Before we set off, you’ll learn how to handle the sled. Feel the excitement of the huskies as they get ready and then enjoy the serene silence as they pull your sled through the beautiful winter scenery. Each sled is set up for two guests, with one mushing and the other seated in the sleigh. Halfway through the journey, you’ll switch positions so both of you get to experience the thrill of mushing.

  • 1 hour Sauna experience with jacuzzi – In Koski (Finnish word for rapids), the sauna is heated by a Finnish electric sauna stove. In addition to the sauna, there is a dressing room, bathroom and showers. From the sauna you will find an entrance to the terrace, where you can enjoy the warmth of your own jacuzzi overlooking the rapids of Juutua River.

  • 1.5-hour winter walk to Janiskoski rapids – We will head to the beautiful Janiskoski rapid which is one of the 10 rapids at Juutua river and the biggest one of them. There is about 1km walk to the camp spot and this trip is suitable for everyone. During this trip you will learn about the river Juutua which is an important part of Inari S mi Culture and other interesting facts about the locals and the locals’ way of living. We will enjoy warm drinks and grill sausages together at a nice camp spot while listening to the sound of running water.

  • 3-hour Aurora camp by snowmobile sleigh – Admire the Northern Lights while you are comfortably seated in a sleigh pulled by the snowmobile. We will head to the Aurora hunting on the amazing Lake Inari. You can enjoy the northern sky all the way to the campsite. The atmosphere by the campfire is an experience in itself. We will enjoy the blazing campfire with hot drinks and each other’s company

  • 4-hour Ice fishing by snowmobile sleigh – Ice fishing done in traditional Finnish way; does it get any better? Spend the day outdoors and learn how the fishing during winter is done. You will learn interesting facts about the life up in the North. We will have a nice snowmobile sleigh ride to the best ice fishing spots. Our guide will teach us how to make some holes through the ice, and then we try and see who the best fisher is. Day includes a tasty lunch by open fire.

  • 2.5-hour Aurora snowshoeing – Walking in the dark forests companied by the light of the moon and dance of the northern lights is unforgettable. Warm up by the campfire and wait for the auroras to show up, while warm drinks are prepared on the open fire.
