Charlotte Marshal

Charlotte Marshall is the Founder and CEO of Arctic Direct and Arctic Education (Travelbee Ltd), an award-recognised specialist travel company focused on expertly designed Arctic experiences and supported school travel. Her journey began as a traveller: after struggling to find an agency that truly understood the far north, she planned her own trip — and identified a clear gap for travel built on first-hand knowledge rather than generic packages.

In the 21 years since founding the business, Charlotte has travelled extensively across the Arctic, personally visiting suppliers and resorts and building long-term relationships with trusted local teams. She has completed around 40 Arctic trips and witnessed the Northern Lights 40 plus times — an experience she still describes as unforgettable. Her approach is practical and experience-led: only recommend what the team knows well, be honest about conditions and expectations, and design trips that feel seamless and reassuring for clients.

Charlotte’s leadership has been recognised nationally and regionally, including wins at the FSB Microbusiness of the Year and Wiltshire Business of the Year awards, and being shortlisted in the inaugural Telegraph Trade Awards in London. She is an ATOL and ABTA licence holder, a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses alumna, and works closely with schools and families seeking safe, memorable Arctic travel delivered with care and integrity.
