Ice Hotel 365 is a new way to experience the Icehotel – with thanks to clever engineering and solar power, you can now stay in the Icehotel365 all year round!
The Ice Hotel in Sweden started life almost 30 years ago and had now become a bucket list destination for travellers across the globe. Owing to the popularity of Icehotel in Winter, availability in the Winter season can become very limited very quickly. The great thing about the new 365 Ice Hotel is that you no longer need to be limited to the dates of travel – you can stay and experience the Jukkasjarvi Ice Hotel 365 days a year!
Remember, there are no power sockets in the cold rooms!
One of the main questions we’re asked by our customers is about the experience of staying in the 365 suites compared to the ‘original’ Ice Hotel – and one of the things we’ve found is that guests who’ve travelled wanting to stay in the original Ice Hotel are actually upgrading their stay to experience a night in the 365. This is not only because of the exceptional quality of the artworks (in both Ice hotel and 365) but there are improved options in 365 such as Art suites with their own toilet and sauna areas. Many guests chose this upgrade because it is a bucket list trip and they want to make it as memorable as possible.
This most recent season – 2016/2017 – there were 42 artists working hard to design the unique Art Suites and Snow Suites and they are already planning the rooms and construction for the upcoming 2017/2018 season at Ice Hotel. Jukkasjärvi has become a unique Art Gallery – using only snow and ice and ‘Snice’ (a snow and ice combo) to complete their masterpieces.
It isn’t all cold accommodation at the Ice Hotel – there are around 50 cold rooms and seventy warm rooms. The number of rooms changes slightly each year. In addition to the cold rooms, cold ice bar and frozen ice church there are a variety of warm restaurants, cabins, hotel rooms and a lounge – all within walking distance.
Owing to the nature of the Ice Hotel and the number of people who want to experience it, between 10am and 6pm each day, the Icehotel is open to the public; for day visitors and guests to enjoy the art. If you’re an overnight guest in any of the cold rooms, this means overnight guests get their rooms at 6pm and wake-up call is around 7:30am.
