3 hour Aurora hunting adventure with reindeer

Chase the northern lights in the most magical way, on a
reindeer sleigh, guided by a reindeer herder. Surrounded with calming white forest, experience the mystical night time of wilderness with these gentle creatures while gliding through pristine snow. This relaxing experience takes you to our
wilderness kota hut to warm up by the fire and enjoy the views of the arctic night sky! Minimum age is 5 years.

Snowmobiling Activities

3-hour 3 peaks snowmobile safari

The The tour visits Saariselkä’s famous mountaintops and makes stops at picturesque places where you can take photos. With a bit of luck, even reindeer and other wild animals can be spotted along the way. This tour includes a delicious soup lunch consisting of local ingredients. 

90-minute mountaintop snowmobiling tryout

Learn the essential skills during this introduction tryout
snowmobile safari. Experience the thrill of snowmobiling and explore the Saariselkä surrounding area with our professional guides. The tour makes stops at picturesque places where you can take photos.

3 hour Aurora hunting by snowmobile

Experience the fells at night-time! On a clear night, the tour
will be guided under millions of stars and with a little bit of luck, it may even be possible to see the northern lights dancing above you. You can enjoy warm drinks as our guide tells you stories about our unique nature and culture in Lapland. We will make stops on picturesque places with best views of the Arctic night sky. Minimum age is 12 years.

Please note: Minimum age of participant is 5 years, minimum height to sit on snowmobile is 140cm. All drivers need to have valid driver’s license.

Reindeer Activities

3.5 hour Traditional Reindeer experience

Meet our friendly reindeer and learn more of the Sámi
culture during this traditional reindeer safari. During the tour you will be welcomed to the farm by a local reindeer herder, who will tell stories of reindeer herding and the culture.
You will go for a magical sleigh ride through the snowy pine forest and get to meet, feed and pet our reindeer. This tour
includes a delicious soup lunch at the Wilderness Restaurant. Minimum age is 5 years.

4-5 hour Reindeer herding and feeding

During the harsh winter times in Lapland, when the natural foods are scarce and difficult to access, the local Sámi herders visit their herds on a daily basis to provide extra feed and hay for their reindeer. This traditional way of herding and feeding is passed from one generation to the next in the same family for hundreds of years, modernized with present day’s process.You now have truly a special, once in a lifetime chance to experience something only very few in the world have. Immerse yourself in the world of reindeer herding
culture. Hop on to the sleigh and let us take you to a true authentic Lapland experience! Minimum age is 12 years.

Snowshoeing Activities

2 hour Afternoon snowshoeing at Kaunispaa Fell

This snowshoe adventure takes you for a relaxed and fun walk around our home fell, Kaunispää. Experience the mountaintop in its glory; no light pollution, no crowds, only serene landscapes and the sound of snow crunching below your feet as you walk on the white mountainside. The walk itself is not too demanding and we'll adjust the pace suitable for everyone.

3 hour wilderness snowshoeing

Breathe in the cleanest air in the world and experience true
silence as we walk in the middle of fells and untouched snow. Spot animals and their tracks within true silence of winter forest. This safari takes place in our Wilderness Center where we will be surrounded by true Arctic nature.

The walk itself is not too demanding and we'll adjust the pace suitable for everyone. After the tour, a delicious soup lunch will be served at the Wilderness Restaurant. Minimum age is 5 years.

Husky Experience

3.5 hour Ultimate Siberian Husky Sleigh Experience

Sense the feeling of freedom as you breathe in the fresh winter
air, ride your own sleigh and learn to control your own husky pack. Let them take you through the Arctic pine forest while you can admire the changing wilderness sceneries along the way. The 3-hour tour includes a longer husky ride and a
delicious soup lunch at the Wilderness Restaurant. Ride length 10-20km. Minimum age is 5 years.

3-4 hour Aurora hunting with Siberian Huskies

Experience the wilderness at night-time! On a clear night, the
tour will be done under millions of stars and with a bit of luck, it may be possible to see the magical Aurora Borealis dancing
above you. This tour is perfect for those who want to combine a longer husky experience with the excitement of aurora hunting. Minimum age is 12 years.

Ice Fishing

3 hour ice fishing in the wilderness

Ice-fishing is a must do for many of our visitors. As most of the lakes and rivers remain frozen for up to 7 months each year here in the North, ice-fishing has deep traditions.

During this tour you can try traditional ice-fishing on our private Wilderness Center lake and maybe catch some arctic char or trout! After the tour, a delicious soup lunch
will be served at the Wilderness Restaurant. Minimum age is 5 years.

Hotel Location

For air travel, we recommend flying into Ivalo Airport. There are convenient flights available from the UK via Helsinki to Ivalo, as well as some direct routes. Finnair offers daily flights year-round. Once you arrive, we can arrange a transfer from Ivalo Airport to Muotka, approximately a 35-minute drive away.
