Brexit Travel Update

Brexit Travel Update

This update is for our guests who are due to be travelling over, on or in the days following the 29th March.

Given that the political situation is still uncertain, and there will changes to passport validity requirements in the event of a no-deal, the UK Government recommends that travellers going to the EU after 29 March 2019 have six months left on their passport and is also advising that any extra months which have been added to a 10 year passport will not be valid.

The Passport Office has released a passport checker tool here: https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/check-a-passport  to ensure you are aware about passport validity changes in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal on 29 March 2019. The Government has also added a new Brexit page to it’s website: https://euexit.campaign.gov.uk/ which you may wish to refer to. ABTA has also issued the following advice: https://www.abta.com/tips-and-advice/brexit-advice-for-travellers

Ensure you have appropriate travel insurance – you are responsible for ensuring that you understand the terms and conditions of booking and of your travel insurance policy, ensure that any travel insurance policy is sufficient to cover possible disruption.

This guidance was issued to affected guests who are due to be travelling over, on or in the days following the 29th March  by email on 10/1/19
