We will visit the National Park Thingvellir and the geothermal area Kýsuvík.

This tour needs a minimum of 2 participants.

Day 1
  • Direct flight from Gatwick or Heathrow to Reykjavik
  • Transfer to accommodation.
  • Dive at underwater hot springs in the lake Kleifarvatn, In the center area of the hot springs is a hole in the lake floor where a lot of water and gases come up. When diving into this hole, one has the feeling of diving into an earthquake because the air bubbles coming out of the ground create pressure that lets the rocks vibrate. Divers can feel these vibrations deep into their bones. A very special experience! Following the dive there is a drive to enjoy some above ground hot springs.
  • Night in accommodation
Day 2: Snowmobile safari
  • Breakfast followed by 2 ocean dives, usually at 2 of the following sites Garður home to many types of sea life including Tommi the wolffish, Óttastaðir, is a nice naturalist dive site where many different species can be observed. Parts of the site are influenced by fresh groundwater inflow increasing the biological diversity, or Bjarnagjá: an 18 m deep lava ravine on the Reykjanes peninsula.
  • A dive in crystal clear water in a narrow crack caused by the drift of the two continental plates is a unique experience. The water is mostly fresh groundwater but it is influenced by the salinity of the sea as the site is only few hundred meters from the coast. For those who have the appropriate level of training and diving experience this site offers dives in an overhead environment
  • Night in accommodation
Day 3
  • Breakfast and then a day of Iceland’s most famous dive site: Silfra. It's the place where the continental plates meet and drift apart about 2cm per year. Secondly the visibility that you will experience will rarely be surpassed, if ever. 100m+! The reasons for this clarity are twofold: the water is cold ( 2°C - 4°C all year ) since it's the melting water from a glacier about 50km away and has traveled through the lava fields for many years before coming out at the north end of Thingvellir lake through underground wells. The Silfra water is as pristine as water can get and you can drink it at anytime during the dives.
  • The National Park Thingvellir has been declared a WORLD HERITAGE SITE by UNESCO, both for its cultural & historical significance as well as natural & geological uniqueness. During the day you will dive the cathedral and the lagoon.
