Snowmobile Adventure

Snowmobiling to the Nordic boundary stone of three countries.

For those who want a true taste of adventure in the wilderness our Snowmobile safaris are for you. There is a choice of 4 different itineraries – one of which features below – but all include flights, transfers, meals, arctic clothing rental and your own snowmobile. The trips usually cover 100-200km per day (60-120miles) and will have a variety of terrains and accommodations. They are all held in small groups (generally between 10 and 20 people) and are led by experienced guides. Offers a real opportunity to discover untouched Lapland at its best.

Day 1

• Flights London Heathrow - Kiruna (via Stockholm)
• Arrival at Kiruna Airport.
• Transfer to ICEHOTEL.
• Evening meal at ICEHOTEL restaurant.
• Night in Icehotel double ice rooms.

Day 2

• Breakfast and lunch at ICEHOTEL before Briefing of the safari and snowmobile education during the afternoon.
• Dinner at the local Inn.
• Overnight cottages, double rooms

Day 3

• ICEHOTEL-Kilpisjärvi, approximately 180 km.
• Travel towards the mountainside and pass the Sámi village of Vuosko before the start of the climb up to the tundra area.
• Sauna, dinner and overnight at the Finnish side of the border in the village of Kilpisjärvi. Dinner at the local restaurant and accommodation in cottages.

Day 4

• Kilpisjärvi-Abisko or Låktajåkko mountain hut, approximately 190 km.
• Snowmobile driving above the tree limit of the Swedish mountains almost the whole day. The day starts with a visit at the boundary stone where three countries meet. Sweden, Finland and Norway.
• Wilderness lunch outdoors. After a long day surrounded with snow covered mountains we reach Abisko National Reserve.
• Dinner at the local restaurant and accommodation in cottages or at the mountain hut (weather depending).

Day 5

• Abisko-Kiruna, approximately 130 km.
• Morning visit to Abisko Naturum, an exhibition about the nature and culture of the Abisko area.
• Wilderness lunch outdoors.
• Afternoon return snowmobile to ICEHOTEL.
• Dinner and overnight in Kiruna or Jukkasjärvi.

Day 6

• After breakfast a short transfer to Kiruna Airport.
• Flights Kiruna - London Heathrow (via Stockholm)
