North Pole

A reasonable number of people have been to the North Pole but how many have been under it? We at Arctic Direct think we may have found the trip that the words “once in a lifetime” may have been invented for. It is a much bandied about phrase but this trip really is special – in fact we believe there is no-one in the world yet who has done it more that once and only about 20 people who have done it at all!

Our exclusive package really is special and includes training from standard advanced diver (we can help you get this far if necessary) but is quite unlike anything you will find elsewhere.

Training Camp – approx 1-2 months before North Pole trip

A 4-7 day stay at the White Sea in Russia where your ice diving skills will be tested (ice diving course can be arranged if required), can also include diving with beluga whales.

Day 1: Flight to Oslo Meeting with all the expedition participants.

Day 2: Oslo - Longyearbyen (Spitsbergen) flight; flight on an Antonov An-74 polar aircraft from Longyearbyen to the Borneo ice airfield, located on drift ice roughly 100 km from the geographical North Pole;

Day 3-5: Flight to the geographical North Pole in a Mil Mi-8 helicopter; pitching camp; diving preparations; diving at the North Pole by the programme participants; optional further diving if the weather is favourable
Days 6: Decampment and return to the ice airfield; flight from the ice airfield to Longyearbyen

Day 7: Arrival at Longyearbyen (late evening);

Day 8: Flight from Longyearbyen via Oslo back to UK

The Programme may change depending on the weather, ice, technical and other conditions.
